Kees Bruggink's Gasshuku

Ossendrecht, 22-24 June, 2007

Since it was already the third time that Kees organised the Gasshuku in Ossendrecht, we hope this is the start of a tradition. Everyone who has been training at the Dojo regularly lately attended, which gave a nice family feeling to the weekend. The theme of this year was Ki  Ken Tai, the calligraphy of which, followed by the official greeting, actively marked the beginning of the Gasshuku.

Although the weather looked grim, we could do almost all of our training outdoors on Saturday. When lightning forced us to train indoors for the last hour, at first some of us were affraid that the room would be too small. However, it turned out to provide a very good training in Ma Ai.

At night, Kees and Wil showed some of the pictures of their recent trip to Japan. When we saw in how narrow a room they could train with Nishioka Sensei, we realized the relativity of largeness.

All of Sunday we spent outdoors. In the morning we trained Kihon. The afternoon was spent on exams in a nice light drizzle. All those who were allowed to take the exam, passed.

We look forward to welcoming more people next year.
