Gasshuku in Ossendrecht

The Netherlands, from May 28th to 29th, 2005

During two days we had organized a gasshuku at Ossendrecht. The location where we practiced was a monastery, a beautiful place, quiet and serene. This was true until the next morning six o’clock, when we made the first kiai. The first day was based on the basic movements kihon tandoku and kihon sotai. Without a proper understanding and of course practice of these basic movements there is no progression.

The second day we started with kihon again. We paid close attention to each movement in the kihon practice. Then we went through some basic exercises in ken and omote. Most of the practitioners were beginners. Therefore, our theme was Junanshin. On Sunday two people ( Erik and Dirk) from Belgium participated the training. The pictures give you some impression, if you want to see more pictures, visit www.jodo.nl. Next year the second gasshuku will be held at the same place and time. I will let you know.
